Baraja: "We want to dedicate the victory to the victims and those affected by the 'DANA'"
The coach previews the game against Real Betis
Edinson Cavani scored his first goals for Valencia CF with a brace against Elche CF, in a 2-2 draw at Mestalla. The Uruguayan striker analysed the game with VCF MEDIA.
His assessment of the game
What you want is to win and to take the three points. It was what we wanted and that's what we worked for. These things happen. You have to look ahead, look at the good things that you did and also look at the mistakes and correct them. You have to keep working to have better games and have a good season.
The result
It's a point. You have to think that everything adds up. In the first half we were by far the better side, and in the second we were not; they were superior to us for many minutes. That's football. There are moments and things that happen, and that is when you have to be more solid. You have to take away the positives to continue doing them, and the negatives to correct them.
His first goals for Valencia CF
Being able to score always gives you joy. Goals are very important, as well as working for the team. Scoring goals in front of the fans was one of the biggest wishes I had. It happened and we have to look ahead. We need to think that we got a point and focus on what is to come.
His celebration
I did just the one arrow celebration. The second time I didn't do it because with VAR being checked you have to wait and you can't celebrate. It was very nice to score in front of the Valencia CF fans, and hopefully they can be the first of many goals.
Ankle discomfort
My ankle is a little sore. Now we have to work to recover for the next game and whatever may come after that. We will move on with a firm idea, knowing that we are a good team and we can continue to improve, win and take all three points.
